Groq is seeking a Design Verification Engineer to join the Hardware team to drive key aspects of ASIC verification, collaborating with internal interdisciplinary teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include verifying hardware features of the Language Process Unit (LPU), developing advanced verification environments, implementing automated verification flows, utilizing formal verification techniques, and supporting silicon bring-up and debug.

The Hardware Infrastructure team in Groq is responsible for architecting and supporting a world class ASIC development and verification environment optimizing the productivity of our hardware engineering team. As a Senior Staff Design Automation Engineer, you will architect, develop, and deploy an innovative framework that enables automation of the Groq silicon design flow and collaborate with the silicon design team to migrate the Groq hardware code base into a form that facilitates dynamic scaling and feature management.
Build and optimize model evaluation systems to ensure that AI models deployed on Groq’s platform achieve best-in-class quality, throughput, and efficiency. Develop benchmarking frameworks, optimize model performance, and drive improvements that push the boundaries of evaluation systems.
Plan, coordinate, and drive execution for silicon programs at Groq. Assume ownership of silicon schedules for LD, DV, PD, packaging, and foundry. Work with engineers and engineering managers to ensure on-time execution of silicon deliverables with quality. Collaborate and lead cross-functional planning and execution efforts with product, systems and software teams to ensure we deliver a product, not just a chip.
Focus on the evaluation and technical support of EDA, chiplets and IP solutions for various silicon designs. Lead the technical evaluation of various solutions to determine the best fit for internal design requirements (EDA, Chiplet, IP Evaluation). Evaluate processor cores, interconnect IP, memory controllers, and peripheral IP from multiple vendors.
You will design, implement, and optimize cutting-edge algorithms to enhance our production AI infrastructure and capabilities in post training, model evaluation, and operational performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate your solutions into Groq’s production AI infrastructure. Develop high-performance, scalable code primarily in C++ and Rust, ensuring efficient resource utilization and system stability.
The Hardware Infrastructure team in Groq is responsible for architecting and supporting a world class pre- and post-silicon ASIC development and verification environments that optimizes the productivity of our hardware and software engineering teams. Work closely with our systems engineering team to bring up and deploy new hardware product platforms including integrating those new platforms into established build, delivery, and verification frameworks. Automate and integrate flows into Groq’s overall infrastructure to streamline our development cycle.
