This is a critical executive leadership role responsible for the end-to-end P&L, credit policy, risk governance, and portfolio management of Varo's credit products, including Varo Advance and Varo Line of Credit which sits at the heart of Varo’s growth strategy. The GM of Lending will drive expansion across our cash-flow–underwritten products, deepening customer relationships and lifetime value.
Manage Varo Bank's Dispute Operations, encompassing oversight of both domestic employees and off-shore managed service providers for dispute processing. Establish, monitor, and refine dispute processes & procedures using Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Act as the primary escalation point for all dispute issues and necessary reporting.
This senior fraud analytics role involves designing analytic approaches to detect and mitigate fraud risk. Responsibilities include analyzing fraud policy effectiveness and large account/transaction data to derive actionable insights for identifying fraud risk and enhancing the secured banking experience. Critical thinking and analytical skills are essential in this fast-paced environment.
Independently evaluate and challenge credit strategies as a member of the 2nd line of defense credit risk management team, by understanding the impact of any change on profitability through advanced credit analytics. Manage Credit Key Risk Indicators; perform analysis to enhance and evolve credit KRIs, ensuring metrics align with Varo’s Business Objectives and Risk Appetite.
Review transaction monitoring alert, case and SAR notes, supporting documentation, rationale, and narratives. Provide investigative feedback and quality assurance (QA) results in a clear and concise manner. Thoroughly document the results of your quality assurance reviews and ensure that feedback enhances the quality of work within the department.
