Job Description

The Patient Safety Advisor promotes directs, coordinates, and ensures that occurrence reporting systems and patient safety processes to promote a culture of safety, achieve compliance with standards, and reduce patient harm. This position manages the occurrence reporting system across the organization and works closely with departments and physicians to utilize the system fully. This position coordinates data management for reporting out at the unit level, department level and aggregate level for the organization. Develops data reporting requirements and works closely with the management team, clinical analytics, and physicians. Identifies areas needing improvement. The Patient Safety Advisor implements systems and processes to effectively collect event entries and collate data, ensuring comprehensive analysis for identifying trends issues and improvement and which are consistent with excellent quality outcomes and evidence based practices. Designs/enhances data management tools to provide effective and user-friendly systems for data tracking. This position is responsible for entering case reviews into the system for tracking and trending.
