Chief Investment Officer / Head of Investments

About the Role:

• StartEngine is launching a full robo-advisory offering converting existing private-fund clients to a discretionary, algorithmically-managed platform.
• You will be the working investment leader who personally designs and runs model portfolios, not a figurehead.
• You will write the investment philosophy, select funds, define allocation logic, and work with the engineering team.

What You'll Do:

• Design and own the Investment Policy Statement and the 50/30/20 model portfolio framework across risk bands.
• Select and maintain the fund/ETF lineup using cost, liquidity, tax efficiency, and tracking accuracy criteria.
• Define rebalancing and tax-loss-harvesting logic and work hands-on with the 14-person engineering team.

What We're Looking For:

• You have personally built and run model portfolios at a small-to-midsize RIA or robo-advisor.
• CFA charter or equivalent demonstrated track record; we care more about what you've shipped.
• Working knowledge of modern portfolio theory, asset allocation, and passive fund selection.
