Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as second-in-command of local newsrooms, shaping and editing local investigations.
  • Help oversee a team of investigative reporters in Cleveland, Jackson, and St. Louis.
  • Deepen engagement strategy in each city and identify themes for accountability-driven stories.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Seasoned editor with 5-7 years of journalism experience and dedicated engagement work.
  • Experience with investigative tools like FOIA requests and data analysis.
  • Ability to manage reporters, deadlines, and ensure accuracy in content production.

Compensation and Work Arrangement:

  • This is a full-time, remote position with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
  • Applicants must reside in the United States and periodic travel to local newsrooms is required.
