Job Description

The Conflict of Interest (COI) Analyst is responsible for managing institutional COI processes (Penn State Policy AD83) and individual, research-related COI processes (Penn State Policy RP06). This role is housed within the Office for Research Protections (ORP) at Penn State and reports to the COI Program Assistant Director. The Analyst collaborates with fellow COI Analysts, the COI Coordinator, ORP staff, and other university offices involved in research compliance. Regular interaction with the COI Director ensures policy alignment, updates on complex or high-risk cases, and support for strategic COI initiatives.

Key responsibilities include analyzing institutional and individual COI disclosures, collaborating with various Penn State offices to address COI concerns, and overseeing compliance with policies AD83, RP06, and AC80. This also includes maintaining accurate records, interpreting regulations, drafting COI policies and procedures, developing educational materials, and preparing reports for committees, the University President, and federal agencies.
