Director, Elevators Inspections

The Elevators Inspections unit ensures the operational safety, reliable service, and lawful use of vertical transportation devices throughout New York City that include: elevators, escalators, amusement rides, personnel hoists, dumbwaiters, material lifts, wheelchair lifts, conveyors, and other related devices. The Director, Elevators Inspections will be responsible for managing inspection and clerical staff who work diligently to ensure safety compliance for vertical transportation devices. Key tasks and responsibilities include: overseeing and maintaining Unit operations by monitoring service levels, identifying problem areas, and taking corrective actions; improving the operational systems, processes, and policies; managing projects to improve inspectorial operations; and reviewing performance data.
