Senior Backend Engineer - Hyperliquid ecosystem

Architecture and Ownership:

• Own key architecture and technical decisions across backend systems, ensuring they remain scalable, reliable, and performant.
• Contribute to a fast-paced 0-to-1 development environment with meaningful ownership.
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver robust APIs.

Data and Infrastructure:

• Build and operate real-time data pipelines handling order book updates, trades, and market events.
• Design and maintain API infrastructure including GraphQL and WebSockets.
• Work extensively with PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse, and similar technologies.

Performance and Reliability:

• Optimize queries, caching strategies, schemas, and data access patterns.
• Instrument services with metrics, monitoring, and alerting, and participate in on-call rotations.
• Investigate and resolve latency, memory, and performance issues under production workloads.

Requirements and Collaboration:

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with strong TypeScript production experience.
• Proven experience with real-time systems, trading concepts, and distributed systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills in an ambiguous environment.
