Job Description
The Disengagement Clerk is responsible for managing a high volume of cases efficiently and effectively. This role involves proactive follow-up, providing regular updates to clients, ALG staff members, and attorneys.
Key Responsibilities: Draft, file, and serve substitution/dismissal-related legal pleadings reviewed by attorneys and other documents essential to the case. Create new requests for substitution/dismissal-related legal pleadings. Communicate with the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, defendants, opposing counsel, internal staff, and clients to facilitate case closure. Audit filed substitution/dismissal-related legal pleadings, and update firm's case management system with the results. Serve substitution/dismissal-related orders, notices of intent, and other documents issued by the court and assigned to our firm for service. Serve applicants with disengagement notices, and applicants their file. Close and reopen cases.
