Key Responsibilities:
- Lead protocol desert tortoise surveys, including handling, rehydration, and health assessment.
- Conduct focused burrowing owl surveys, passive relocation, and general wildlife surveys.
- Support project execution with pre-construction surveys, construction monitoring, and compliance oversight.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biology or related field with 4+ years desert tortoise experience.
- Valid US driver's license and authorization to work in US.
- Prior consulting experience and 10(A)(1)(a) permit preferred.
Additional Information:
- This is a fully remote, on-call position requiring local presence in southern/central California.
- Must be willing to temporarily relocate to desert regions based on assignment.
