Product Design Contractor

About the Role:

• You will work closely with the Design Director and Senior Designer on the Living Infrastructure Field Kit.
• This is a 32-40-hour/week remote contract position reporting directly to the Design Director.

Scope of Work:

• Simplify key flows to make the platform easier to navigate and use.
• Improve visual consistency and component coverage across the UI kit.
• Deliver clear specs and prototypes that support smooth engineering handoff.

Requirements:

• Strong foundation in visual design fundamentals: typography, color, layout, and composition.
• Solid interaction design skills with experience designing complex flows.
• Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with accessibility standards.

About the Living Infrastructure Field Kit:

• It is a free platform providing map-based planning tools for the Greater LA region.
• It serves community organizers, environmental advocates, government agencies, and educators.
• The product team works in three-week sprints with design and engineering running in parallel.
