Commercial Director

About the role:

• This is a senior Engineering leadership role for the development of a significant Copper mining complex in Zambia.
• The Commercial Director establishes the commercial strategy and contracting approach for the project.

What this role is accountable for:

• Delivering a commercial strategy approved through project governance.
• Building a high-performing contracting, procurement and supply chain team.
• Ensuring major packages are tendered and awarded on schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Establish commercial governance and routines for the project.
• Lead commercial inputs into executive forums and technical committees.
• Oversee procurement, sourcing, contracting, and supply chain execution.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of commercial leadership on multi-billion dollar mining or industrial projects.
• Deep knowledge of major construction contract structures like FIDIC and NEC.
• Experience working in Africa and with Chinese suppliers is advantageous.
