Responsibilities:
- Examine plans, designs, and construction documents for building repairs to ensure compliance with NYC Construction Codes.
- Review Façade Inspection & Safety Program (FISP) compliance reports and local law filings.
- Prepare objection lists based on Construction Code and other regulations.
Meetings and Legal Support:
- Meet with owners, Registered Design Professionals (RDPs), and licensed General Contractors to review project status.
- Represent the Department as an expert witness on technical and policy matters in legal proceedings.
- Issue violations and Commissioner orders to owners and RDPs.
Additional Duties:
- Maintain service level and backlog as set by the Chief Plan Examiner.
- Support Engineering Services division cross-training, incident response, and project management.
