Job Description
The VP of Compliance is responsible for overseeing the compliance program, designed to prevent, detect, and mitigate regulatory risk. This includes policies, procedures, monitoring, auditing, training, and education. A key focus is promoting an ethical organizational culture that complies with federal and state healthcare laws. The VP reports to a CCO, CEO, or General Counsel and can access the Board of Directors to discuss the compliance program's status, prevention tactics, risk detection, and mitigation. Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring the Compliance Program, creating awareness, and ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state healthcare laws. This role involves creating, reviewing, and revising compliance policies, providing up-to-date training on topics like Fraud, Waste and Abuse Laws, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and HIPAA. Candidates should maintain a current understanding of federal and state regulations through routine review of CMS manuals and government information sites.
