Financial Access Specialist

Department Overview:

• The FACT department coordinates insurance clearance for inpatient and planned/unplanned admits, outpatient surgery, clinic procedures, and high-dollar imaging.
• The team values excellent customer service, timely response, accurate authorization, and courteous processing of calls.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Take part in on-the-job training to coordinate the insurance clearance process and verify coverage and benefits.
• Review patient work queues, obtain authorizations, document progress in EPIC, and refer uninsured patients for screening.
• Collect payments, prepare estimates, and communicate out-of-pocket costs and non-coverage notices to patients.

Requirements and Schedule:

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of medical office experience or equivalent.
• This is a full-time remote position with a Monday-Friday day shift.

Compensation:

• Pay range is $25.10 to $35.91 per hour, with benefits available through the University of Washington.
