Lead CDI Coder

Role Responsibilities:

• Accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and other codes to ensure billing compliance and represent clinical documentation.
• Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and issue compliant queries when information is ambiguous or incomplete.
• Conduct medical record audits to identify trends and participate in performance improvement projects for documentation practices.

Qualifications:

• Possess 3+ years of outpatient medical coding experience and a credential such as CPC, CRC, or CCS.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare regulations like Medicare and HEDIS.
• Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, analytical skills for complex records, and effective communication to resolve documentation issues.

Work Environment:

• Work effectively in a primarily remote setting with dedicated, interruption-free space to protect patient PHI/HIPAA information.
• Utilize provided telephony applications and equipment, and ensure home internet meets minimum speed requirements for connectivity.
