Director of Product Operations

This Principal-level role is critical in shaping the tools, governance, and operating systems that drive Upwork’s product development lifecycle. You’ll lead innovation in AI-powered processes, act as a catalyst for transformation, and drive scale through clarity, systems thinking, and influence. Responsibilities include designing and implementing a best-in-class Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC), leading AI-powered workflow transformation, overseeing the product tech stack, partnering cross-functionally, defining and monitoring key operational health metrics, and championing change management efforts. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in product operations or product management, experience designing and implementing AI-enabled workflows, strong command of tools such as Jira, Linear, and Looker, exceptional communication skills, and a track record of thriving in fast-paced environments.
