As a Staff Software Engineer on the Web Platform team, you will lead the design and development of our next-generation web architecture, empowering teams across Upwork to build dynamic, agent-driven user interfaces with speed and confidence. You’ll play a pivotal role in defining how our platform supports modular, performant, and scalable frontend experiences.

This role in Upwork's Data Infrastructure team involves designing, operating, and automating database systems across Upwork’s global infrastructure. Combining database engineering expertise with software development rigor to build automations for Upwork’s core data assets, the role orchestrates complex systems spanning Terraform, RDS, Presto, and Rancher to solve challenges.

Record spoken versions of technical scripts in fluent, natural-sounding Spanish (Spain). Deliver clean, well-paced audio with voice-acting-quality performance. Maintain consistency in tone, clarity, and pronunciation across recordings. This is a fully remote opportunity with flexible working hours and competitive hourly compensation.
