Director, Safeguarding, Girl Up

Strategic Leadership & Organizational Culture:

• Serve as organizational lead on safeguarding and wellbeing, contributing to strategy and advising on risks.
• Foster a culture of safety and shared responsibility, ensuring alignment with Global Fund for Children requirements.

Safeguarding Systems & Policy Development:

• Lead development of safeguarding framework, policies, and reporting mechanisms that are trauma-informed and youth-centered.
• Manage risk register and ensure robust protocols for online platforms and social media.

Incident Response & Risk Management:

• Serve as primary contact for concerns, leading intake and response processes with confidentiality.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, producing anonymised annual reports.

Capacity Building, Monitoring & Learning:

• Develop and deliver safeguarding training for staff, youth leaders, and partners.
• Provide coaching and support, and collaborate on learning resources to strengthen safeguarding knowledge globally.
