Job Description
KIND seeks a National Staff Attorney to provide expert legal services to unaccompanied children facing removal proceedings through zealous direct representation as well as pro bono facilitation, including robust consultation, training, and technical assistance to pro bono attorneys who have accepted KIND cases. As needed, this role involves supervising Senior Paralegals, Paralegals, interns, and/or other non-attorney staff.
The attorney will mentor pro bono attorneys and provide direct legal representation to KIND clients, performing functions such as legal research, client interviews, court appearances, and drafting legal documents. The candidate will place cases with pro bono attorneys and build relationships with the pro bono community. They will also contribute to training resources, present trainings, and participate in office-wide activities, including data entry into case management systems.
