About the Role:
- As a Systems Engineer on the Core Team, you will work on core features like proxying, load balancing, and database support.
- You will build foundations for other teams and customers, and discover cutting-edge industry trends.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design, build, and maintain API management software and its underlying stack.
- Architecture, implement, and optimize new features, including proxying, load balancing, and database support.
- Troubleshoot bugs, perform performance tuning, and engage with the open source community.
What You'll Bring:
- 5+ years of programming in server-side applications and components.
- Experience designing scalable, distributed, reliable, and resilient systems.
- Solid low-level Linux systems troubleshooting and profiling expertise.
Bonus Points:
- Hands-on experience with NGINX, OpenResty, Kong, or LuaJIT.
- Experience with Envoy, Istio, or Rust.
