Staff Software Engineer, Data Warehouse

The Community You Will Join:

• Data represents the voice of Airbnb’s users at scale.
• The Data Warehouse Infrastructure team is responsible for foundational big data infrastructure used by hundreds of engineers.
• We use open source technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Trino, Iceberg, Airflow.

A Typical Day:

• Design and build the next generation big data compute platform for data ETL, analytics, and machine learning.
• Operate, manage, and improve the reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency of the platform.
• Write maintainable code, perform code reviews, and work on open source software with industry impact.

Your Expertise:

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of experience in data infrastructure.
• Proficiency in big data technologies such as Spark, Presto/Trino, Kubernetes, and programming in Java, Scala.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems and strong communication skills.
