Staff Software Engineer - Forecast Engine

Architecture & Technical Leadership:

• Own the full architecture of the Forecast Engine and its automation layer (scheduled runs, variance tracking, alerting).
• Define data contracts, forecast cadence, and alert routing to ensure reliability and observability.
• Drive innovation in forecasting including responsible use of AI/ML tooling.

Hands-On Development:

• Build scheduled forecast runs via Argo Workflows with retries and idempotency.
• Develop variance tracking and alerting that fires on budget breach, forecast drift, and pipeline health.
• Extend the Rust simulation core and build Lightdash marts for finance and capacity partners.

Collaboration & Integration:

• Work autonomously with FinOps leadership and partner with DevOps and platform teams.
• Integrate with planning systems and ensure forecasts map to how the organization plans and budgets.
• Use modern AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to accelerate development.
