About The Role:

  • The Insurance Verification Specialist manages initial benefit/eligibility verifications for Equip patients during the admissions process.
  • They act as a liaison between insurance companies and Equip’s Admissions, Utilization Management, and Finance teams.
  • They ensure accurate treatment information is communicated to both payors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop collaborative relationships with insurance companies/payors to verify benefits and eligibility.
  • Enter and update patient demographics, guarantor, and insurance information in company systems.
  • Respond to inquiries from insurance companies and internal team members.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of healthcare experience with billing, insurance verification, or utilization management required.
  • Knowledge and experience with EMR and billing software programs required.
  • Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills.
