New Associate Software Engineer - Java (Distributed Systems and Databases)

Your opportunity:

• Contribute to the proprietary telemetry database technology at the core of New Relic's business.
• Work on systems that process millions of messages per second and handle exabytes of data.
• Own software end-to-end, with responsibility for quality and reliability, including on-call rotation.

What you'll do:

This role requires:

• 2+ years of professional experience in distributed SaaS software development.
• Proficiency in Java, algorithms, data structures, and building high-throughput software.
• Experience with databases, command line, cloud platforms, and containerization tools like Kubernetes or Docker.

Bonus points if you have:

• Familiarity with networks, load-balancing, and low-latency distributed systems.
• Knowledge of observability and alerting patterns.
• Experience with debugging tools like Java Flight Recorder and working in distributed teams.
