Staff Backend Engineer, Architecture Engineering: Nonlinear Productivity

About the Role:

• You'll be the technical anchor for the Nonlinear Productivity team, deciding what 'proven' means before shipping.
• Work on agentic solutions to cut code review time and automate release steps.
• Operate as a generalist with no dedicated PM, owning direction from day one.

What You'll Do:

• Set technical direction for agentic systems, from orchestration to human-owned steps.
• Discover and prioritize friction across the SDLC and drive fixes to measured results.
• Collaborate with the India-based group and represent technical progress to CTO org.

What You'll Bring:

• Experience building reliable agentic or LLM-based systems with multi-step orchestration and guardrails.
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals and proficiency in Go, Rust, or Python.
• Track record of mentoring and raising the quality bar for a team.

About the Team:

• NLP is a strategic incubation group under AI Platform leadership with CTO sponsorship.
• Split into US and India groups, syncing on roadmap and tooling a few times a week.
• Solutions that prove out internally become monetized customer-facing offerings.
