Senior Engineering Manager

Lead and Grow Engineering Teams:

• Manage two teams of roughly 8–10 engineers combined, including senior and staff-level ICs, through direct management or through tech leads.
• Conduct weekly 1:1s, team meetings, and skip-levels to build rapport, trust, and coach engineers on technical leadership and career growth.
• Own the full performance management cycle, including setting expectations, providing feedback, managing reviews, promotions, and performance improvement plans.

Drive AI-Powered Productivity and Strategy:

• Champion the adoption of AI tools like coding assistants and LLM-powered internal tooling to improve team productivity, code quality, and reduce cycle time.
• Partner with Product and Design peers to shape architectural decisions for critical integrations and align on a shared product vision and strategy.
• Stay current on AI/ML trends to guide how Zapier's integrations leverage LLMs in the product and share learnings across the engineering org.

Act as Engineering Lead for India and Ensure Team Health:

• Represent Zapier's engineering presence locally in India, partnering with Recruiting on hiring strategy and fostering a strong local engineering culture.
• Define and track key team health and delivery metrics such as predictability, quality, incident response, and customer satisfaction to identify and remove blockers.
• Ensure new hires in India ramp quickly and feel connected to the broader globally distributed team, acting as an escalation point for site-level matters.
