Software Engineer II, Message Mailflow

About the Role:

• You will join the Message Mailflow team, responsible for building and maintaining systems that power the ingestion of billions of emails per day.
• These systems are the backbone of Abnormal's core Inbound Email Security product, handling upstream mailbox monitoring, email notifications, and downstream remediation actions.

What You Will Do:

• Design and execute software projects critical to Abnormal's core product, working with a team through conception, design, implementation, launch, and operation.
• Own and improve the stability, performance, and scalability of tier 0 backend services that process billions of emails daily.
• Collaborate with teams across R&D including Detection, Products, and Infrastructure to ensure Message Mailflow services meet the needs of the broader organization.

Must Haves:

• BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems or other related engineering field.
• 3+ years of industry experience on backend software development and distributed systems.
• Experience with Go and/or Python, and experience building features from scratch.
