Coding Responsibilities:

  • Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient visit types including Observation stays, Same Day Surgery, Surgery Center, and Outpatient in a bed.
  • Interpret health record documentation using knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease process, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
  • Resolve NCCI Edits with approved hospital modifiers and utilize 3M Encoder resources for optimal coding accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Required: RHIT, RHIA or CCS credential with 3-4 years of coding experience in an acute healthcare setting.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet established productivity (90%) and quality standards (95%).
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in related field with 4 years of coding experience.
