Position Overview:
- Responsible for preauthorizations/referrals and precertifications in accordance with payor requirements.
- Manage patient reimbursement for Hospital and Physician services.
- Assist patients in identifying options for insurance coverage and/or financial assistance.
Essential Functions:
- Interview patients to collect demographic, guarantor, insurance and financial data.
- Verify service benefits and coverage.
- Obtain referrals/authorizations or precertifications to ensure reimbursement.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with financial assistance applications.
- Support patients in contacting the UCM MA-NG vendor to start the process.
- Investigate and resolve charge disputes, process patient refunds, and identify adjustments.
