Reporter - Huntsville (Temp) Intern

Role Overview:

• Seeking an energetic reporter for a temporary full-time contract under Canada’s Local Journalism Initiative.
• Focus on civic journalism in the Huntsville and Lake of Bays areas.
• Stories will appear on muskokaregion.com and may be shared across Metroland platforms.

Qualifications:

• A journalism degree, diploma, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Strong interviewing, writing, and social media skills; proven news judgment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for fieldwork.

Work Environment:

• Work virtually but must be available locally for interviews and photography.
• Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a team-oriented culture.
• Contract ends March 31, 2027; application deadline July 19, 2026.
