Senior Backend Engineer (Remote Opportunity)

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop backend services, APIs, and enterprise integration components supporting mission-critical healthcare applications.
• Lead technical implementation activities involving service-layer business logic, data processing, error handling, and system integrations.
• Perform code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices for maintainability, reliability, security, and performance.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in backend engineering or software engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful API development, and microservices architectures.
• Experience with SQL, relational database design, and CI/CD pipelines.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience supporting federal healthcare programs or VA initiatives preferred.
• Familiarity with InterSystems IRIS, FHIR APIs, or healthcare interoperability is a plus.
• Experience with containerized deployments, AWS cloud services, or platform modernization desirable.
