Role Overview:
- The Credit Specialist resolves credit balances on patient accounts by analyzing payments and adjustments.
- This role ensures timely refund processing and compliance with payer contracts and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and investigate credit balances to determine if overpayments have been made.
- Prepare refund requests, perform payment corrections, and transfer patient payments as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and follow up on refund/offset requests.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of accounts receivable experience with understanding of coordination of benefits.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and EPIC.
- Commitment to health equity and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
