Role Purpose:
- Provide legal advice and commercial insights to develop and grow Monzo Bank in the UK.
- Support Monzo with operational and product changes.
- Ensure Monzo operates safely and in accordance with the law and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with product managers on legal matters for business banking and merchant payments.
- Act as the sole lawyer advising product managers and colleagues.
- Collaborate with legal teams in the EU and US to identify local legal and regulatory requirements.
Experience Required:
- Technically excellent lawyer with 5+ years of relevant post-qualification experience in banking and finance.
- Strong background advising on commercial and regulatory issues relating to banking products.
- Experience in business banking (including company law and insolvency aspects) and merchant acquiring.
