The Team:
- Owns systems for internal transfers, direct debit mandates, standing orders, sweep rules, and balance notifications.
- Operates globally across UK, India, and EU with different payment schemes and regulatory requirements.
- Consists of backend and mobile engineers across Lithuania and Bulgaria.
The Role:
- Lead a team of 7 engineers, getting deep into mandate management, scheduling, and sweep logic.
- Set engineering direction: reliability, correctness, observability, long-term architecture for scheduled systems.
- Partner with product to build compliant, member-centric features and grow engineers at every level.
Requirements:
- Meaningful engineering management experience leading teams through real delivery.
- Solid backend engineering foundation in strongly-typed languages like Java/Spring Boot.
- Experience with event-driven systems, relational databases at scale, and cloud-native microservices on AWS.
