Senior Back End Developer

About the Role:

• You'll join the Build Operator team responsible for the backend systems that make AI-powered engineering knowledge retrieval possible.
• You'll build scalable retrieval pipelines, evolve AI search infrastructure, and develop services that power intelligent experiences across the platform.
• Over the next year, Operator will expand to include company-wide knowledge retrieval, dynamic reporting, AI-generated dashboards, and personalized engineering insights.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build backend services that power Operator, including scalable retrieval systems connecting engineering knowledge across design reviews, notebooks, search, and other surfaces.
• Build APIs and services that enable AI-powered experiences, improve search quality, data pipelines, and knowledge retrieval performance.
• Expand Operator's capabilities to support intelligent reporting, dashboards, and engineering insights, and design systems that organize company knowledge across business units, engineering domains, and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years building production backend software with strong experience in Python and modern backend development.
• Experience building APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications, with a strong understanding of databases and system architecture.
• Comfortable making architectural decisions in evolving product environments and excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical teammates.
