Job Description
This is an initial maternity leave contract until the end of March 2026 and the company is open to candidates seeking a part time opportunity. This role will give you the opportunity to be more than just a legal advisor β the successful candidate will proactively seek out ways to improve the legal function and the broader business as Willow scales. Responsibility for providing and managing legal advice to cross-functional teams. You will work closely with, and report to, the Acting General Counsel. Help negotiate deals to help the business grow in Australia and internationally with blue-chip clients. Manage Willowβs insurance portfolio. Be flexible and able to prioritise competing priorities under time pressure. Develop maturity to balance business goals with legal risks in line with the businessβs risk appetite. Translate complex legal issues into succinct and clear advice to enable quick and easy decision making by stakeholders. Additionally, there is potential for involvement in investor relations and future capital raising initiatives, providing a unique opportunity to influence the strategic direction and financial growth of the company. Most importantly, can help grow a thriving Australian start-up into a globally recognised market leader.
