Remote Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze customer contracts to ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, including evaluation of non-standard terms.
• Prepare, review, and post manual journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting financial documentation.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and flux analyses for revenue-related accounts such as deferred revenue and unbilled receivables.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with large datasets, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with demonstrated attention to detail and financial accuracy.

Nice to Have:

• 2-3 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment.
• Experience applying ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and familiarity with SOX compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and interest in leveraging AI and automation for process improvement.
