Job Overview:

• Responsible for technical coding of inpatient and outpatient services.
• Assign ICD-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes, modifiers, and MS-DRG/APC classifications.
• Interact with medical staff, nursing, and ancillary departments for documentation needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians with record documentation by requesting clarification.
• Educate physicians and staff about documentation needed for coding.
• Train new coding staff and code all types of encounters as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• Certification required upon hire: CCA, CPC, RHIT, RHIA, or CCS.
• Meet production standards and maintain 95% quality accuracy.
