Customer Service:

  • Provide excellent customer service to external (patients, families, referring providers, insurance) and internal customers (OHSU staff).
  • Communicate professionally, manage crises, process complaints, and improve service.

Patient Access:

  • Coordinate patient appointments and managed care as directed by physicians and nurses.
  • Serve as a liaison, return messages, prepare packets, direct patients, and route referrals.
  • Enter patient information accurately into OHSU databases, gathering demographics, insurance, and financial status.

Telecommunications:

  • Triage and document telephone calls, including medication refills, complaints, and urgent health concerns.
  • Deliver information to providers promptly.
  • Schedule basic appointments and process calls in a polite manner.
