UK Policy Advocate/Lead

Advise the UK government on its forthcoming AI bill. This experienced and connected policy professional will also make recommendations for how the UK can utilise its unique position on the global stage to limit risks from AGI. The UK Policy Advocate/Lead will report to our Head of European Policy and Research. The exact title will depend on seniority. As UK Policy Advocate/Lead, you will: 1) Build awareness among key stakeholders about the fundamentals of AI safety as well as the benefits of putting clear safeguards in place. 2) Support the UK's domestic regulation of AI - Identify key groups and stakeholders involved in shaping the forthcoming AI bill and build trusting relationships with these groups. - Develop a political strategy to engage   senior government stakeholders. 3) Further the role of the UK in shaping global governance of AI - Identify key stakeholders with international-facing roles at UK AISI, FCDO or other relevant government departments. - Liaise with these contacts to advance global limits on dangerous AI development and co-shape the conditions for meaningful multilateral negotiations. 4) If UK Policy Lead: Develop and take full ownership of FLI's strategy within the UK, determining long-term plans and spearheading engagement within the nation.
