- Directly manage 4+ engineers with regular 1:1s, growth plans, performance reviews, and candid feedback.
- Own hiring for your team, partnering with recruiting to scope roles and evaluate candidates.
- Develop engineering talent through mentoring, pairing, and code review.
Technical Direction & Execution:
- Define and own your team's roadmap, translating company strategy into well-sequenced engineering work.
- Guide your team through ambiguous, broadly scoped initiatives like major refactors or new services.
- Hold a high quality bar for code structure, testability, and maintainability.
AI & Agentic Engineering Leadership:
- Champion AI-native engineering, ensuring effective and responsible adoption of tools like Claude Code.
- Coach your team on collaborating with AI systems and evaluating AI-generated output.
- Stay hands-on with AI tools to remain credible and drive real leverage.
Platform Health, Security & Operations:
- Ensure your team operates production systems well, participating in on-call and using observability tooling.
- Partner with leadership on security and compliance including SOC2 and vulnerability management.
- Translate operational insights into roadmap priorities and maintain sound DevOps practices.
