Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts concurrent reviews of clinical documentation in medical records and queries caregivers for accurate information.
  • Performs chart reviews to identify co-morbidities and ensures proper documentation for quality and risk mitigation.
  • Promotes a safe care environment and maintains high privacy and confidentiality standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree plus RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, RN, LVN, MD, or DO credentials with two years of experience, or a related bachelor's degree with three years of experience.
  • Must have completed coursework in medical terminology and anatomy and physiology, with excellent communication and computer skills.
  • ICD-10-CM/PCS coding training and CCDS or CDIP certification are highly desirable.
