Backend Engineer

We’re seeking a Backend Engineer (Java/Kotlin) for a 90-day contractual engagement to support ongoing backend integrations and data-driven application enhancements. This role is fully remote but may occasionally require visiting a nearby Kohl’s store (once a month, optional) to ensure successful deployment or on-ground validation. You’ll work closely with product and client teams, contributing to integration, optimization, and troubleshooting of backend systems in a fast-paced retail technology environment. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and integrations using Java or Kotlin (strong Kotlin preferred), and working extensively with complex SQL queries.
