Produce photorealistic real-time visual effects, including explosions, fire, weapon FX, smoke, clouds, and debris using Unreal Engine. Collaborate with Environment, Lighting, Animation and Design to support both artistic and gameplay requirements for VFX across gameplay and cinematics. Help research new workflows and proactively contribute to documentation. Ensure VFX content is performant and within budget.

The Athletic is looking for a versatile reporter to join its Data and Visuals team. This is a generalist position in which your work could vary by the day or week. Some days you may be publishing articles and charts about analytics, sports strategy, trade values, the salary cap or sports analytics. Others you may need to find or analyze data in partnership with another reporter or editor.
