Performs the final reconciliation on clinic or provider visits. Reviews, abstracts, and codes multiple or sub specialty services and complex or unusual cases, and assigns appropriate coding classifications. Interacts with coding staff, business office, providers, hospital staff, clinic managers, and other clinical personnel on billing related issues.

Secures outpatient accounts by performing insurance verification and obtaining prior authorization before services are rendered. Works with physicians, nurses, clinic managers, and financial advocates to resolve issues during the prior authorizations process. Ensures accurate ICD, CPT codes and related medical records are submitted in the authorization request.

Performs routine and complex audits on phone calls and claims adjudication. Researches claim processing problems and errors to determine their origin and appropriate resolution. Provides prompt customer service to members, providers, billing departments, and other insurance companies regarding claims.
