We source, ingest, enrich, and serve map data that product teams use every day, from road networks to customer-specific map context.
This role is remote and open to candidates based in the US.

In this role, you'll:

Shape the technical direction of the Maps team and build geospatial systems that support foundational features across most Samsara products.
Scale storage, query, and computational load for real-time features and consolidate team-specific geospatial solutions into platform-wide offerings.
Build agentic solutions for customers to self-serve data and raise the technical bar through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, with 8+ years building software and at least 2 years in an architect or technical leadership role.
Strong programming and design fundamentals, plus 4+ years working on large-scale distributed systems.
4+ years leading technical projects across multiple teams.
