Software Development Engineer II - Backend India Engineering – Mobile & Commerce

About the Role:

• We're building a global commerce platform to power $1T+ in annual transactions for millions of SMEs.
• As an SDE II, you'll design core models — subscriptions, payments, reconciliation, and tax — plus the services around them.
• You'll define event contracts, data policies, and consistency guarantees to ensure every transaction is correct by design.

What You'll Do:

• Design and ship multi-tenant services: checkout, subscriptions, payments orchestration, invoicing, tax hooks.
• Integrate PSPs and local methods (UPI, wallets, BNPL, cards/3DS) with resilient webhooks and idempotent APIs.
• Implement an append-only double-entry ledger; apply event sourcing/CQRS where it improves scale and correctness.

What We're Looking For:

• 2+ years in software development with experience in Postgres, Valkey, and event-driven systems (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals: idempotency, retries, ordering, concurrency, and consistency.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and GCP; familiarity with secrets/KMS and PCI basics.

Tech Stack:

• Backend: Go, ConnectRPC, Buf.
• Databases: Postgres (Primary), AlloyDB, ClickHouse.
• Cloud: GCP (GKE), Pub/Sub, Valkey, OpenTelemetry.
