Controller

Accounting Operations & Close:

• Manage full general ledger and month-end close in QuickBooks Online, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, deferrals, and intercompany activity.
• Deliver an accurate, timely close (target 7–10 business days) with a clean reporting package for the leadership team and investors.
• Own AP, AR, payroll accounting, expense management, corporate card programs, and bank reconciliations.

Controls, Audit & Compliance:

• Design and maintain internal controls appropriate for growth stage, with an eye toward audit-readiness.
• Support annual audit or review process, coordinating schedules, documentation, and auditor requests.
• Coordinate tax compliance with CFO and outside advisors, including sales/use tax and multi-state nexus.

Strategic Finance & M&A Support:

• Partner with CFO and CEO on investor updates, cap table support, and fundraising.
• Support M&A activity including financial due diligence, quality-of-earnings preparation, and post-close integration.
• Evaluate and account for acquisitions as asset acquisitions vs. business combinations under U.S. GAAP.

Team Building:

• Define, recruit, and hire your first direct report as the company grows.
• Build the accounting org over time, including evaluating systems beyond QuickBooks when scale demands it.
