Automotive Market Development Engineer

Role Overview:

• Combine materials engineering expertise with customer engagement to drive growth of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds.
• Own technical development activities, product approvals, and market development across the automotive industry.

Key Accountabilities:

• Identify strategic automotive markets, target customers, and material requirements.
• Collaborate with product development engineers to create material solutions and support customer molding trials.
• Prepare formal data packages and coordinate with OEMs, Tier suppliers, and converters to achieve product approvals.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science with 5–7 years of elastomer or plastics experience, preferably in automotive.
• Proven ability to build customer relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Strong time-management skills and willingness to travel more than 50%, including international.

Work Arrangement:

• Remote role based in eastern Michigan or northern Ohio.
• Frequent travel to customer sites and potential international exposure.
